Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire
The Grand Vizier was the chief minister and head of government in the Ottoman Empire, serving as the main advisor to the Sultan. They managed the empire’s administration, military, and judicial affairs, effectively acting as the Sultan’s right hand. The Grand Vizier could propose laws, lead military campaigns, and make day-to-day decisions, often holding significant power, especially if the Sultan was less involved. The position was the highest-ranking official, central to maintaining the empire's stability and governance from the 14th century until the 19th century reforms.
