Grand Fleet

The Grand Fleet was the main naval force of the British Royal Navy during World War I, primarily designed to protect Britain and assert naval dominance. Established in response to the growing German navy, it comprised battleships, cruisers, and destroyers, and was based in Scapa Flow. The Grand Fleet engaged in major naval battles, most notably the Battle of Jutland in 1916. Although it did not achieve a decisive victory, its presence helped maintain British naval superiority throughout the war, deterring German sea power and ensuring safe supply lines across the Atlantic.
