Government of the United Kingdom

The Government of the United Kingdom consists of three branches: the Executive, the Legislature, and the Judiciary. The Prime Minister leads the Executive and is supported by the Cabinet, responsible for running government departments. The Legislature, primarily Parliament, makes laws and is made up of two houses: the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The Judiciary interprets and applies laws independently. The UK is a constitutional monarchy, meaning the monarch has a ceremonial role while elected officials govern. This system balances power and allows for representation of the public in decision-making processes.
