Gospel authenticity

Gospel authenticity refers to how genuine and trustworthy the accounts of Jesus’ life, teachings, and resurrection are considered. Scholars assess this by examining historical context, authorship, consistency with other ancient texts, and the internal message of the writings. While the Gospels were written decades after Jesus' life, many believe they relay fundamental truths about His mission and impact. Authenticity doesn’t mean they are exact biographies like today’s reports, but that they reflect real events and meaningful insights about who Jesus was and what He taught. Ultimately, authenticity helps us understand the reliability of these foundational texts.
