Gondwanaland
Gondwanaland was a large landmass that existed hundreds of millions of years ago, forming part of the supercontinent known as Pangaea. It included what are now Africa, South America, Australia, Antarctica, the Indian subcontinent, and parts of the Middle East. Over time, Gondwanaland broke apart due to tectonic plate movements, eventually drifting into the separate continents we recognize today. Its existence helps explain similarities in fossils, rocks, and geological features across these regions, highlighting how Earth's continents were once connected and have since migrated over geological time.
