Gnutella Protocol
The Gnutella protocol is a decentralized system that allows computers to share files directly with each other over the internet. Instead of relying on a central server, each computer (or “node”) connects to others, forming a network where files can be searched and transferred efficiently. When you search for a file, your computer asks connected nodes, which pass the query along the network until the file is found. This peer-to-peer approach enhances resilience and scalability, enabling users worldwide to share and access files without a single point of control.
