Glenoid Component

The glenoid component is part of a shoulder replacement prosthesis that replaces the socket part of the shoulder joint, called the glenoid cavity in the shoulder blade (scapula). It is designed to fit into the socket to restore joint stability and smooth movement. Made typically from durable materials like metal or plastic, the glenoid component connects with the ball-shaped top of the upper arm bone (humerus).
