Gestation
Gestation is the period during which a developing fetus grows inside a female's uterus, from conception until birth. In humans, this typically lasts about 40 weeks, divided into three trimesters. During gestation, the fetus receives nutrients and oxygen through the placenta and umbilical cord, and its organs and systems develop gradually. This process involves complex biological changes that lead to a fully formed baby prepared for life outside the womb. Gestation duration varies among species, but it is a critical phase for proper growth and development before birth.
