German National People's Party (DNVP)
The German National People's Party (DNVP) was a conservative political party in Germany, active from 1918 to 1933. It represented nationalist, monarchist, and traditionalist values, opposing the Weimar Republic's democracy and the efforts to modernize Germany. The party attracted former aristocrats, militarists, and conservative elites, emphasizing strong national pride, autonomy, and maintaining social hierarchies. As the political landscape shifted, the DNVP became increasingly nationalist and anti-communist, eventually aligning with the rise of Nazi ideology before dissolving in 1933 when Adolf Hitler's government took power.
