German Imperial Army
The German Imperial Army, also known as the Reichsheer, was the land-based military force of the German Empire from 1871 to 1918. It was established after Germany's unification and was characterized by a professional standing army, significant military planning, and advanced weaponry for its time. The army played key roles in World War I, engaging in major battles on the Western and Eastern Fronts. It was organized into divisions, corps, and specialized units, emphasizing discipline and modern tactics. Following Germany's defeat in 1918, the army was demobilized and replaced by the Reichswehr during the Weimar Republic era.
