German federalism
German federalism is a political system where power is divided between the national government (the federal government) and 16 individual states (Länder). Each level has its own responsibilities and authority, such as education and policing for the states, and defense and foreign policy for the federal government. This division allows regions to manage their local affairs while remaining united as a country. The system promotes regional diversity, local governance, and cooperation between different levels of government, ensuring shared sovereignty and balancing unity with regional interests.
