GEO satellites
GEO satellites, or Geostationary Earth Orbit satellites, orbit about 35,786 kilometers above the Earth's equator. They move at the same rotational speed as the Earth, so they stay fixed over a single point on the surface. This allows continuous coverage of the same area, making them ideal for things like weather monitoring, television broadcasting, and communication services. Because they remain stationary relative to the ground, signals can be transmitted and received reliably without the satellite constantly changing position. Their stable position provides consistent, real-time coverage over specific regions.
