genome structure
Genome structure refers to the complete set of genetic material in an organism, primarily made up of DNA. DNA is organized into long, thread-like molecules called chromosomes, which contain genes—the instructions for building and maintaining the organism. In humans, there are 23 pairs of chromosomes inside each cell. The genome also includes non-coding regions that regulate gene activity and other elements that help organize and protect the DNA. Overall, the genome provides the blueprint that guides growth, development, and functioning at the cellular level.
