Genocide of Yazidis

The Yazidi genocide refers to a systematic campaign of mass killings, abductions, and oppression carried out by ISIS from 2014 onward. The militant group targeted the Yazidi community, a Kurdish-speaking religious minority with ancient roots, viewing them as heretics. Thousands of Yazidis were murdered, and many women and children were abducted or enslaved. This atrocity aimed to eradicate the Yazidi identity and faith, leading to a significant humanitarian crisis and ongoing efforts for justice and recovery. It is recognized as an ongoing genocide and a severe violation of human rights.
