
General Armando Diaz
General Armando Diaz (1861–1928) was an important Italian military leader during World War I. He is best known for commanding the Italian army after the disastrous defeat at Caporetto in 1917. Diaz implemented significant reforms to improve the army's organization, morale, and strategy. Under his leadership, the Italian forces achieved a notable victory at the Battle of Vittorio Veneto in 1918, which contributed to the end of the war in favor of the Allies.
