Gallstone Complications
Gallstone complications occur when stones in the gallbladder cause issues. They can block bile flow, leading to pain, infections, or inflammation like cholecystitis. Stones may migrate into bile ducts, causing blockages that result in jaundice (yellowing of skin) or infections. Rarely, they can cause tears or perforations in the gallbladder or bile ducts. These complications often result in severe pain, fever, or digestive problems, and may require medical procedures such as surgery or removal of affected gallbladder parts to prevent further health issues.
