Galactic Formation

Galactic formation began over 13 billion years ago from tiny, dense regions of gas and dark matter. These clumps clumped together under gravity, pulling in surrounding material. Over time, they merged and evolved, forming stars, star clusters, and eventually full galaxies. Different types of galaxies, like spirals and ellipticals, emerged based on their initial conditions and interactions. This process is ongoing, with galaxies growing through mergers and accretion of gas, shaping the universe's large-scale structure we observe today.
