Fusion technology harnesses the process that powers the sun, where light atomic nuclei, like hydrogen, combine to form heavier elements, releasing tremendous energy. In laboratories, this involves heating hydrogen isotopes to extremely high temperatures, creating a plasma—a super-hot, ionized state of matter—and using magnetic fields or lasers to contain it. The goal is to produce a clean, abundant, and sustainable energy source without greenhouse gases or long-lived nuclear waste.
