Fun Palace

The Fun Palace was an innovative cultural project started in the late 1960s by architect Cedric Price and theater theorist Joan Littlewood. It aimed to create a flexible, community-driven space where people could freely participate in arts, education, and leisure activities. Designed as an adaptable, worker-friendly environment, it encouraged spontaneous interaction and lifelong learning. Although the original Fun Palace was never built, its ideas influenced modern concepts of participatory and multifunctional community spaces, emphasizing inclusivity, creativity, and the democratization of cultural experience.
