Fulcrum

A fulcrum is the fixed point around which a lever rotates or pivots. It acts as the support that allows the lever to move and amplify force applied on one end to lift or move an object on the other. For example, in a see-saw, the fulcrum is the central support; pushing down on one side can lift a load on the other, making work easier. The position of the fulcrum relative to the load and effort determines the lever’s mechanical advantage, helping to reduce the effort needed to perform a task.
