FTD disorders

Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is a group of brain disorders that primarily affect the front and side parts of the brain responsible for behavior, personality, and language. Unlike other dementias, memory loss is less prominent early on. People with FTD may experience personality changes, difficulty with language, and problems with decision-making or social behavior. It typically affects middle-aged individuals and tends to progress faster than Alzheimer's disease. FTD results from the gradual degeneration of nerve cells in specific brain regions, leading to changes in how a person thinks, feels, and acts.
