Frontstage and Backstage Behavior
Frontstage behavior refers to the actions and interactions we display in public or professional settings, where we are aware of an audience and aim to create a certain impression. This includes how we dress, speak, and present ourselves. Backstage behavior, on the other hand, occurs in private or informal settings where we feel relaxed and can be more authentic, often uninhibited by social expectations. Essentially, frontstage is our public persona, while backstage is our private self, revealing the contrast between our social roles and personal truths.
