Fritz Pfeffer
Fritz Pfeffer was a German-Jewish dentist and a member of the Dutch resistance during World War II. He became known for sharing the Secret Annex with Anne Frank and her family, where they hid from the Nazis to escape persecution. Pfeffer’s presence in the small, confined space was challenging due to his medical needs and personality. His contributions and experiences offer a human perspective on the hardships faced by those in hiding. After their discovery, Pfeffer was deported to concentration camps, where he tragically died in 1944. His story highlights the profound impact of individual resilience amidst oppression.
