Friends (Quakers)
Quakers, or the Religious Society of Friends, are a Christian group known for their emphasis on individual experience of the Divine and direct personal connection with God. Founded in the 17th century in England, Quakers advocate for peace, equality, simplicity, and integrity. They are recognized for their silent meetings for worship, where attendees may speak as they feel led. Quakers are also active in social justice and humanitarian efforts, promoting nonviolence and community service. Their belief in the "Inner Light" suggests that everyone has a spark of God's presence within them, guiding their moral choices.
