Freudian Concepts

Freudian concepts describe how our mind influences our behavior and feelings. The "conscious" mind includes thoughts we’re aware of, while the "unconscious" holds feelings and memories we're unaware of but still affect us. Freud proposed the mind has three parts: the "id" (basic instincts and desires), the "ego" (balances desires with reality), and the "superego" (moral standards and ideals). Conflicts among these parts can cause anxiety or behavior patterns. Understanding these ideas helps explain why people act the way they do and highlights the importance of subconscious influences in shaping personality and mental health.
