Fretwell's Law

Fretwell's Law posits that the average number of species in a given area is inversely related to the number of individuals of those species in that area. In simpler terms, as more individual animals or plants of a species exist in an environment, the diversity of different species tends to decrease. This is because dominant species may outcompete others for resources like food and space, leading to fewer kinds of species thriving together. Essentially, the law highlights the balance between abundance and diversity in ecosystems.
