Frank J. Drake
Frank J. Drake was an American astronomer renowned for his work in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. He developed the Drake Equation, a tool to estimate the number of advanced civilizations in our galaxy, considering factors like star formation and planetary systems. Drake also conducted the first systematic SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) experiments, notably the famous 1960 project at Green Bank. His efforts helped shape scientific approaches to understanding whether intelligent life exists beyond Earth, making him a key figure in astrobiology and the ongoing quest to answer humanity’s age-old question: Are we alone?
