Francesco II of the Two Sicilies

Francesco II of the Two Sicilies was the last king of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, reigning from 1859 until 1861. He was part of the Bourbon dynasty, ruling over southern Italy and Sicily. His reign coincided with the Italian unification movement, which aimed to consolidate Italy into one nation. Faced with internal unrest and military defeat by the expanding Kingdom of Sardinia, he was forced to abdicate, leading to the end of the Bourbon rule in southern Italy. His defeat marked a significant step in Italy's unification process, and he spent the rest of his life in exile.
