Four Books
The Four Books are four important texts in Confucianism that serve as core teachings on morality, proper conduct, and social harmony. They include: The Analects, a collection of ideas and sayings of Confucius; Mencius, which presents the thoughts of the philosopher Mencius about human nature and government; the Great Learning, focusing on self-cultivation and moral development; and the Doctrine of the Mean, emphasizing balance and harmony in life. Together, they form a foundation for Confucian thought, guiding principles for ethics, education, and leadership.
