Founder of System Dynamics
The founder of System Dynamics is Jay W. Forrester, an American engineer and computer scientist. He developed System Dynamics in the 1950s as a method to analyze complex systems and their behavior over time, such as businesses, ecosystems, or social systems. It uses feedback loops, stock-and-flow diagrams, and computer simulations to understand how different parts of a system interact, helping decision-makers predict outcomes and improve strategies. Essentially, Forrester created a specialized way for us to model and study complex, dynamic systems to better understand their long-term behavior.
