Forward Stroke

A forward stroke is a fundamental swimming movement used primarily in freestyle and butterfly strokes. It involves a coordinated series of actions: extending the arm forward underwater, pulling back with the arm to propel the body forward, and then rotating the body to prepare for the next stroke. Simultaneously, the legs kick to help maintain balance and momentum. The goal of the forward stroke is to efficiently move through the water with minimal resistance, maximizing propulsion and conserving energy. It’s a smooth, rhythmic motion that is essential for effective and efficient swimming.
