Fort Augusta
Fort Augusta was a frontier military post established in 1756 near present-day Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Built by the British during the French and Indian War, it served as a strategic defense point and supply hub to protect settlers from Native American attacks and hostile forces. Over time, it evolved into a major trading and military site, playing a significant role in regional defense and expansion. Though no longer standing today, its historical significance lies in its contribution to early American frontier history and colonial military efforts.
