Food Safety Authorities

Food Safety Authorities are government agencies responsible for ensuring that the food we eat is safe, properly labeled, and free from harmful contaminants. They set and enforce regulations on food production, processing, packaging, and distribution to protect public health. These agencies monitor food facilities, conduct inspections, and respond to food safety concerns or outbreaks. Their goal is to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure consumers have confidence in the safety and quality of the food supply. Examples include the FDA in the United States and EFSA in Europe.
