Flotation Method
The flotation method is a metallurgical process used to separate valuable minerals from unwanted material in mined ore. It involves crushing the ore and mixing it with water and chemicals called reagents. These chemicals make the desired minerals hydrophobic (water-repelling). When air bubbles are blown through the mixture, the hydrophobic minerals attach to the bubbles and rise to the surface, forming a frothy layer that can be skimmed off. This technique efficiently concentrates minerals like gold, copper, or zinc, making extraction easier and more effective.
