Floaters and Flashes
Floaters and flashes are visual disturbances often related to changes in the eye's vitreous gel. Floaters appear as small spots or thread-like shapes that drift in your vision, caused by tiny bits of gel or cells casting shadows on the retina. Flashes are brief flashes of light, often triggered by movements of the vitreous, which can tug on the retina. While common and usually harmless, a sudden increase in floaters or flashes can indicate more serious issues like retinal tears or detachments, warranting an eye examination to ensure eye health.
