Five Deeps Expedition

The Five Deeps Expedition was a project to explore and map the deepest parts of all five major oceans' subduction zones. Led by explorer Victor Vescovo, the team used a specialized submersible named DSV Limiting Factor to reach the ocean's deepest points, including the Mariana Trench. Their goal was to gather scientific data, improve understanding of these mysterious environments, and demonstrate human capability to explore extreme depths. The expedition provided valuable insights into marine geology, biology, and Earth's processes, pushing the boundaries of underwater exploration and inspiring advancements in technology and scientific research.
