Fitness Fatigue Model
The Fitness Fatigue Model explains how training affects the body over time. When you exercise, your body gains fitness (adaptation) but also accumulates fatigue, which temporarily decreases performance. Recovery allows fatigue to diminish faster than fitness, so performance improves again. Balancing training intensity and recovery is key: too much fatigue without enough rest can hinder progress, while proper rest lets fitness benefits shine through. This model helps athletes plan training schedules to maximize gains while minimizing overtraining and injury.
