Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE)
Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE) is a movement focused on achieving financial independence at a young age, allowing individuals to retire much earlier than traditional retirement norms. Participants typically save aggressively, invest wisely, and adopt frugal lifestyles to accumulate enough wealth—often 25 to 30 times their annual expenses—within a relatively short time frame. Once their investments generate sufficient passive income, they can choose to leave the workforce, pursue passions, or engage in leisure activities. The goal is to gain freedom over one’s time and decisions, rather than being constrained by a conventional job.
