FIGO Staging System
The FIGO Staging System is a method used to classify the extent of gynecological cancers, such as cervical, ovarian, and uterine cancers. Developed by the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics, it uses a numbered scale (I to IV) to indicate how far the cancer has spread. Stage I means the cancer is localized, while Stage IV indicates advanced cancer that has spread to other organs. This system helps doctors determine the best treatment options and predict outcomes, ensuring patients receive appropriate care based on their specific cancer stage.
