fibular (peroneal) nerve
The fibular nerve, also known as the common peroneal nerve, is a nerve in the leg that branches from the sciatic nerve. It travels down the outer part of the lower leg and controls some of the muscles that lift the foot and toes. It also provides sensation to parts of the top of the foot and the outer side of the lower leg. Injuries or compression of this nerve can lead to issues like foot drop (difficulty lifting the front of the foot), numbness, or tingling in its area of sensory distribution.
