Fever
A fever is a temporary increase in your body's temperature, usually caused by an infection or illness. It’s a natural response by your immune system to fight off bacteria, viruses, or other pathogens. Normal body temperature varies but is typically around 98.6°F (37°C). When you have a fever, it usually ranges above 100.4°F (38°C). Fevers can cause symptoms like chills, sweating, headache, and muscle aches. They are generally a sign your body is working to heal. Mild fevers often don’t require treatment, but higher or persistent fevers should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.
