Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR)
Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) measures how efficiently an animal converts feed into body weight. It is calculated by dividing the amount of feed consumed by the weight gained. A lower FCR indicates better efficiency, meaning the animal needs less feed to gain a unit of weight. For example, an FCR of 1.5 means 1.5 units of feed are needed for the animal to gain one unit of weight. FCR helps farmers assess and optimize their feeding practices, reducing costs and improving productivity while ensuring animal health.
