Federation of Trade Unions of Yugoslavia
The Federation of Trade Unions of Yugoslavia was a national organization representing workers' interests across the former Yugoslavia, established during the country's socialist era. It aimed to protect workers' rights, negotiate wages, and improve working conditions. Unlike typical trade unions that focus on specific industries, this federation encompassed all sectors and worked closely with the government to support the socialist economy. Its structure facilitated collective bargaining while promoting social welfare. However, with the dissolution of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s, the federation faced challenges, diminishing its role and influence as new independent states emerged.
