Federal Environmental Assessments
Federal Environmental Assessments (EAs) are processes used by government agencies to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of proposed projects, such as construction or development. Before moving forward, these assessments analyze factors like air quality, wildlife, and water resources to ensure that any negative effects are identified and addressed. The goal is to promote informed decision-making, allowing for public input and transparency while balancing economic development with environmental protection. If significant impacts are expected, a more detailed study called an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) may be required.
