Fana
Fana, in a spiritual context, refers to the concept of annihilation of the self or ego. It originates from Sufism, a mystical branch of Islam. Practitioners seek to experience Fana as a way to dissolve their individual identity and ego, ultimately achieving a profound connection with the divine. This state is believed to bring about inner peace and enlightenment, as one transcends personal desires and limitations, realizing their unity with everything. Fana is often contrasted with Baqa, which means subsistence, or living in awareness of the divine after experiencing this dissolution.
