Factor X

Factor X, also known as Stuart-Prower factor, is a protein in the blood that plays a crucial role in blood clotting. It helps form a stable blood clot by activating other clotting factors, which work together to stop bleeding when a blood vessel is injured. Without proper functioning of Factor X, blood may not clot efficiently, increasing the risk of bleeding problems. It is part of the coagulation cascade, a complex process that ensures blood clots form precisely where needed to prevent excessive bleeding while maintaining normal blood flow elsewhere.
