Ex-combatants

Ex-combatants are individuals who have formerly been involved in armed conflict or military activities, such as fighting in an armed group or military force. They are people who have laid down their weapons and often participate in processes aimed at reintegration into civilian life. This may include disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration programs to help them find new employment, access education, or secure social support, fostering peaceful coexistence and stability within their communities.
