Euryarchaeota
Euryarchaeota is a major group within the domain Archaea, consisting of microorganisms that often thrive in extreme environments like hot springs, salt lakes, and deep-sea vents. They include methanogens, which produce methane gas, and some that tolerate high salt or temperature levels. Euryarchaeota are unique because they share certain features with both bacteria and eukaryotes, but they are a distinct group of single-celled organisms with their own cell structures. They play important roles in Earth’s ecosystems, especially in processes like methane production and nutrient recycling.
