European Swallow

The European Swallow (Hirundo rustica) is a small migratory bird known for its distinctive forked tail and agile flying ability. It breeds across Europe and parts of Asia, building cup-shaped nests from mud and grass in sheltered locations. These birds feed primarily on insects, catching them mid-air, which makes them beneficial for controlling pest populations. European Swallows migrate twice a year, traveling to Africa for the winter and returning in spring. They are recognized for their graceful flight, social behavior, and adaptability to various environments near human habitation.
