
Euronymous (Øystein Aarseth)
Øystein Aarseth, known as Euronymous, was a Norwegian musician and a founding member of the black metal band Mayhem. He played a significant role in shaping the early black metal scene in Norway, known for its dark, aggressive style and controversial image. Euronymous was also involved in the development of the underground metal community and was influential in establishing the genre’s aesthetic. His life was marked by controversy, including his association with extreme themes and criminal activity. He was tragically murdered in 1993 by a fellow musician, an event that drew international attention to the black metal scene.
